After my recent absence from this blog I had hoped to publish a more profound follow-up post to my return (Overloaded) than this, but I may very well be forced into just a hasty little note instead.

With a storm of this immensity approaching, I can only hope to be back sooner rather than later. I've battened down my hatches and secured my belongings as best I can and have stocked up on all necessary provisions. My place of empolyment is closed until further notice and hopefully we will all survive with minimal, if any, damage.

All battery operated devices; radio, t.v., cooling fans, cell phone and CD player, are powered up and ready for action. Emergency lighting is also installed and operational.

All that's left now is to send out a curse that Katrina shall suffer a "Shattered Impact."

Since my previous post much has been going on. I've released a new single on my private record label. I've also completed a new compilation of some of my old original favorites edited and re-mastered for optimal impact. It's intended for release during the holidays this year.

I'm looking forward to my first trip out west with much excitement and anticipation. The husband and I are flying to San Francisco to attend our two good friends' bitrthday party. I've never been further west than New Orleans, so this will be a special experience indeed.

In more mundane news, we're also having a massive yard sale this weekend, so we've been busily preparing. The little bits of time away from my regular job seem to always be jam-packed with activities. Although many of these activities are pleasant ones, there never seems to be enough time to fit everything in. Finding time to socialize has also been very difficult.

I think it's healthy, at times like these, to let some things go to hell. It's therapeutic and calming. Hopefully it will be sufficient to keep me together until it comes time for that much needed getaway. California, here we come!
